So I am lucky enough to say that is a summary of a weekend, made up of diving and quadcopter flying, at South West Rocks, NSW.
Saturday started off with a whole bunch of Grey Nurse Sharks (which are sadly critically endangered), and a dive through the famous Fish Rock Cave, which included a conversation at -5M (as you do) and a friendly Bull Ray trying to make itself into a blanket for my head.
Unfortunately, my blurfix filter on the gopro camera housing cracked on the first dive (I had dropped it previously - so avoid doing that if you own one), and the second dive had to be done sans filter, which is why it is notably more blurry.
It was great diving, but, not content with that, I ended the day with a fly around the Smoky Cape Lighthouse (with Fish Rock visible in the distance).
On Sunday, despite perfect weather, the sand bar was too rough to get out for more diving, so I had to content myself with a flight or two over the old Trial Bay Jail.
What a great weekend, spent in a special place with great company.
For the diving, I have a Snake River Prototyping blurfix adaptor.
For the flying, the gear list:
Hoverthings VC-450 with DJI Naza
Gopro Hero 2
Fatshark Dominators
Immersion RC 600mw 5.8ghz TX
Cloverleaf antennas
Quadframe Gopro Gimbal
Spektrum DX8 with AR8000 receiver
Turnigy nano-tech 3300mah 3S batteries
The first piece of music is by an ex-Brisbane band called Elevation. All I can find on them is this:
"A 5-piece band from Brisbane, Australia. Existed in the 1990s, including Jim Sinclair (Pangaea), Mike Hall, Chris Bosley, Dave Atkins (Resin Dogs) and Katch. Musically somewhere between Regurgitator and Resin Dogs, though with an accent more on the dub than the rock."
If you know where you can purchase their V5 CD, let me know and I'll include a link.
The second piece is Mystics, by The Break (
