The long awaited Tango II is finally here. TBS have spent a ton of time trying to get this product to meet all their requirements as far as form factor, portability, robustness and minimal latency. We've seen progression of the Tango II for some time but only got our hands on one at the FAI Race in Ningbo China in 2019.
All in all it's been performing way better than expected. Early 2019 Thomas was noticing issues with his Taranis and the way it communicated with Crossfire. In typical Thomas fashion he started a Facebook Chat with Trappy, Remo and one of the BF Dev's calling the Chat "Superfast Protocol Things". He basically wanted them to start talking to each other and investigate what was going on. It literally took months of investigation until they finally worked out what was going on and started making significant progress in improving how CRSF started talking to Open TX. All that development contributed to the delays in getting the Tango II out. TBS wanted to get the absolute maximum out of this radio.
Anyway without boring you with more details, a ton of work has gone into this and if you're in the market for a portable low latency radio that has built in Crossfire this is probably the product for you. They have a group of people testing and work with TBS on everything from latency test (which is what we focussed on) through to others range testing the Tango II etc
Anyway I hope you enjoy this video, note that this not a sponsored video. The pre-production Tango II was provided by TBS for the purpose of testing it and providing them with feedback.
