Quadcopter Motor Fundamentals | Interview With Ryan Harrell

The Emax 2306/2750kv motor pulls up to 50 amps on the bench. It's not as if smaller, less power-hungry motors are struggling with 5" props. So is there even a point to running this motor at all??? I started to wonder if Emax was just playing a numbers game: if 2205 is good, then 2306 must be better!

To help answer the question, I called in Ryan Harrell, whose web site, http://miniquadtestbench.com, is THE compendium of motor and ESC data. He taught me all about how to analyze motor specs, and ultimately answered my question about the Emax motor.
