Another nationals down and another good finish. Unfortunately though, once again there is controversy after the fact. Flying in the comp with the pilots is always fun but the online antics afterwards are always the part I hate. No matter what happens someone is unhappy with the results and the talking starts. People get into the details to justify their reasoning and it just gets negative. They get personal, scrutinise, re-run flights and score how they see it, but they forget one thing. At the end of the day, it's ALL personal, it's all down to the opinion of the person deciding and will never sit well with everyone. That's what "Free"style is all about. One's "Free"dom to express one's self. This is something that is very hard to put a score on, hard to pick a winner and hard to choose one over the other. The ONLY way is to use one's personal opinion to come to a conclusion and if you ask the next person you find a completely different answer. Personally I'd much rather just go fly with friends and enjoy the "true" spirit of freestyle flying. Thanks to the Atlanta crew for allowing that to happen this week.
