Okay.. so the title is a bit of a misnomer, so I just wanted to add things here:
1) Overcharging is fine on LIHV batteries -- they're built to be able to taken a little bit higher than normal 4.20 - 4.35 but don't go higher than that, and especially don't go up to 4.75 volts per cell
2) Charging lipos without a balancer is fine as well, but the extra safety measure of the charger being able to detect the voltage of battery that you have plugged in is important, so be safe.
3) BE SAFE! No matter what you're doing, monitor your charging and always have a plan in place in case of emergency.
