Taking LiPo batteries through TSA and onto a plane isn't as scary or complicated as most people think it is. Follow a few simple rules, and you'll be fine. I'll show you the rules, straight from the FAA's page. I'll also tell you the right way to calculate the watt-hours of the battery, to make sure you're compliant.

The FAA's FAQ on travelling with batteries is here: https://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/headquarters_offices/ash/ash_programs/hazmat/passenger_info/media/Airline_passengers_and_batteries.pdf
