This is probably my favourite walk in the Green Mountains section of Lamington National Park. It can be benign or quite challenging, depending on the conditions. The walk starts by descending to Picnic Rock and then follows Toolona Creek back up to the Border Track, which closes the loop.
This day was on the more challenging side with quite a lot of rain, mud and leeches, but I still enjoyed it immensely. The mist and wet made it extremely atmospheric, although a bit dark at times. Had a nice encounter with one of the famous blue Yabbies as well, this freshwater cray is only found in the Lamington area.
Hope you enjoy. Highly recommended if you have the means!
