Thunderstorm Moonrise

Late in the evening on 24/4/2008, nature turned on a spectacular light show with a massive thunderstorm, 80km away from my house. The moon was rising above the clouds to complete the spectacle.

I had the perfect view from my street, so I went and took some pics with my tripod.

The originals went up on my website at http://www.truffulatree.com.au/lightning.php but I realised that several of the exposures formed a nice sequence, as I was just snapping away playing with different settings without moving the camera. So, years later I have finally stitched them into a short movie.

The music a clip from an original tune of mine called Waterfalls. Camera was a Canon 20D with a 17-55 f/2.8 lens. Exposure times vary from 10 to 30 seconds (I was playing). See if you can spot the plane in the second last frame.

I only wish I had shot more frames at the time!
