The New TBS Crossfire Nano RX, This you’re going to LOVE!
Here I’ll try to cover in more detail the whole back story behind the Nano Crossfire RX. At the Adelaide International we used Crossfire for the first time. It wasn’t because of latency, but rather the massive amount of RF noise that was causing 2.4ghz systems to experience lockouts or failsafes.
It was soon apparent that the reduced latency made a massive difference in the way the pilot could fly the quad. So the feedback we gave Trappy at the time is we love the Crossfire Micro RX but not the Price or it’s size. Essentially it just fit between the FC and VTX stack on the Helix. The issue of price was resolved only a few weeks later with a significant reduction in price for the Micro and Trappy sent me a smiley face in response to the issue of size!
Next thing I know he sends me a picture of a really tiny PCB! This was it. Cutting a long story short, 3 of these Nano Size Prototype RXs were made and we were lucky to get one to try out. For the next few months we flew and raced this quad as much as possible and it pretty much worked flawlessly . . . well except for the Telemetry lost video I added, which was a Firmware issue which was resolved within hours. I had to include that video because it was hilarious lol
Like everyone else we’ve been hanging out for this product and genuinely appreciated the hard work the TBS Team put into this. The video at the end of this is the first ever flight with the Nano RX and it was no different to the Micro!
This is the first time we’ve shared a private feedback video for a manufacturer . . as you can see we don’t take ourselves too seriously in these videos but I thought it was worth sharing. I guess I wanted the community that follows us to realise that Companies like TBS, Immersion, T-Motor etc do a lot of R&D before bringing new products to market, not all companies do this. So keep this in mind the next time you spend your hard earned money in the hobby, support the people that support us.
Please note that we don’t get paid to do this sort of testing for companies like TBS etc, this is something we put in the time because we want better products and we want our whole community to benefit from it.
If you got this far and read all this, then you’re a bloody legend! Comment below with exactly “Lemon Tree Lost Lemon Tree Recovered” and we’ll know just how much of a legend you are :D and I think if Trappy reads the comments it will confuse the hell out of him lol
