I found out why my Taranis was having failsafes, reduced range, and "Antenna Fault" warnings after I did the 5 dBi RP-SMA antenna mod. In the process, I came up with some recommendations for how you can minimize the risk of damage to your Taranis.. I still think that for many people the risks of this mod are not worth the payoff, but if you want to do the mod, or if you've already done it, I think these are the best practices.
