JETs Tip: Cutting Props for Cinewhoops

So I thought I would throw my hat into the ring of cinewhoop tips and tricks. When I first started flying cinewhoops, like the Shendrone Squirt and Geyser. My biggest gripe was having to cut down the props. Now cutting a prop is easy, it takes a couple minutes with a Dremel tool and boom, you have smaller props.

The problem comes in at cutting them WELL. I was unable to produce a prop that I was happy with using 3d printed prop cutting tools. It could definitely be a personal issue, where I was doing something horribly wrong, but I'm all about engineering out my own ability to make stupid mistakes. So I went on a mission to find the best way to cut down 5" props to a ducted cinewhoop size.

Using the Dremel circle cutter, a standard M3 round standoff, and a M3 die was the best method for me to get accurate cut down props every single time.

This really was a mission about repeat-ability. If you have to cut 4 props, each with 3 blades. Thats 12 blades that you are now trying to get to be about as even and balanced as possible, using a hand tool. So eliminating any flex or slop is the key to getting the props to all be as exactly the same as possible.

In the end, this helped me get rid of some oscillations and other gremlins that were plaguing my geyers. Many people are probably perfectly happy with 3d printed prop cutting tools, but this worked for me, and I hope this video can help someone else solve this issue.
