So the common question about the vortex is how it handles crashes. I hope this compilation helps folks better understand if the vortex is robust enough for their flying style. I'll say that with the plastic clamps (folding arms) you'll probably never break anything but the plastic (the way it was designed). And while the metal clamps greatly improves flying characteristics, the downside is that the arms become prone to breaking. I should also note that I've improperly over tightened my metal clamps and fractured my arms. I'm sure this made it super easy to break because I've crashed plenty of times after I replaced the ones I fractured without breaking another. The production metal clamps were redesigned so that you can't accidentally over tighten.
