This series of lessons uses the free FPV Freerider simulator to teach a complete beginner how to fly an FPV multirotor in acro (no autoleveling) mode. You can learn to fly a quadcopter at home in front of your computer for almost no money. You can learn to fly without any fear of crashing and breaking an expensive toy. And yes, the things you learn here WILL translate over to real life.
If you ask most FPV racers what the least useful skill is in all of piloting, nine out of ten will say, "landing". After all, who cares about setting the copter down gracefully when you've already won the race? And anyway, most racers just crash into the ground before the race is over, making landing moot. For those of us who aspire to be that tenth pilot, this lesson begins to introduce you to how to land gracefully and precisely. This is helpful if you need to stop flying anywhere specific, and without breaking your copter in the process.
