This video is my own way to witness that racing quadcopters are designed to have fun, not to spread fear.
As you probably know it, if you're a FPV pilot, you are aware of your own flying abilities and you completely know your gear reliabilty. With a normal amount of common sense, you know then what you can safely do, and what you can't.
If you need a summary of what I think is common sense, here is a non exhaustive list for you :
- Never perform what you see in this video on a maiden flight or with a quad you've barely flown
- Never fly if there is any risk of loosing control of your quad (losing video signal and/or RC link)
- Never fly over a non-consenting audience
- Always have several spotters when you fly
- Always be aware of where your quadcopter is
- AND IN GENERAL : When in doubt, DON'T.
To summarize : not everyone can turn on a quad and go fly and if you're a FPV pilot, you know what you're doing.
There are some ways to ruin the hobby, but knowing what you do and having fun doesn't count as such.
