FlyPro XJaguar Review | RACING QUAD WITH NO BAD PIDS?

4,639 Views · Posted 8 years ago
What are the best PIDs for the FlyPro XJaguar racing drone? I got a pleasant surprise when I did PID tuning on this quadcopter. It flies perfectly on a massively wide range of PIDs. The quadcopter will fly pretty well regardless. Locked in. Smooth. Whatever you want.

I'm used to my tuning being limited by problems like excessive propwash oscillation, hot motors from high D gain, and so forth. Not here. This isn't the fastest racing drone on the market, but it may be the smoothest-flying. Learning to tune PIDs? This may be a good quadcopter for you because it's hard to make a mistake.

Props in this build are KingKong 5x4x3. I strongly recommend using a prop like this instead of the 5045x3 props that the quadcopter came with. Those props give a bit more thrust but are generally less tunable. But on this quadcopter, who knows?

My final PIDs:

Roll P/I/D - 75/40/30
Pitch P/I/D - 75/50/30
Yaw P/I - 115/30

This is on Betaflight 3.0.1 with all other settings default.
