If you haven’t watched our previous video on the HDO I would highly recommend it. Thomas basically spent a day getting used to flying with the HDO from the smaller 16:9 Field of View of the Fatshark Dominator V3 Goggles.
In this Video he’s flying with EastSide FPV practice session, so it’s a track he’s not used to and flying with others. Flight also done with a Quad carrying a Foxeer Box just to add an additional variable.
All in all the session went well.
We also got Dan (fellow EastSide Pilot) to try my Goggles and see what he thought of them. Keep in mind he flies with FatShark HD2, so for him it’s maintaining the same aspect ratio of 4:3 but coming down to a smaller Field of View image.
We also had Stew from UAV Futures come over to get Thomas’ opinion on the FatShark HDO goggles so we featured him on this video also. His overall conclusion on the HDO is very different to ours but his points are without doubt valid.
Additional update from myself (Paul) I’ve fully adapted to the HDO goggles and I can say without a doubt I love them. Keep in mind I’m the one who paid for them so maybe I needed to convince myself they were worth it lol but seriously for myself I think the were well worth the money.
In conclusion I would recommend these to anyone wanting the absolute best possible image on a light pair of goggles. If however you fly with different goggles, i.e. Dom V2, HD2 etc it really doesn’t matter, since they are all good goggles. Let me put it this way, if I flew with HDO and Thomas flew with DomV3 he would still kick my butt!
