This is a second video where I will try to do another test to compare the (R9M & Crossfire)modules in terms of latency.
Test setup:
Transmitter: Taranix X9D (OpenTX 2.2.2)
Frsky:
Transmitter: FrSky R9M
FW: R9M-LBT-180428
Set on 8 Channels (EU)
Receiver: FrSky R9M Slim
FW: R9Slim-LBT-180425
(tried the R9M Lite module but does not work on Taranis X9D, so even if it is faster it is only usable on the Taranis X-lite transmitter)
Team BlackSheep:
Transmitter: Crossfire MicroTx
Latest FW on EU Setting
Receiver:
Crossfire Micro v2
Things to consider:
I used PWM output on CH1, to measure the output of the receivers(which has a slower update).
If you use SBUS, FPORT or CRFS(the order of their speed Sbus being the slowest) the actual latency that reaches the FC will be lower, but the differences in latency should be the same.
Even if someone will test the other FW available for R9M the latency will still be the slower(I think)than Crossfire's, cause the protocol FrSky uses is still slower than the one TBS uses(at least they will correct all the issues with the rf protocol).
If I forgot or said something wrong I am sure someone will correct me :P
