So this is it, the finals of the ultimate race in Australia’s FPV Calendar. There were way too many races to include so what I’ve done is include the First race of the day, Thomas’ Semi final and 2 of the 3 races of the final 4.
In this race Thomas was forced to run his B quad which wasn’t ideal but at some of these event you just need to make it work. Anyway I hope you enjoy it.
For those of you who get to the end of the video, the Awesome Pete (Ghost) hassles the heck out of me for pulling out of one of the races. I had to cut that bit short because he wouldn’t stop hassling me for pulling out lol
Anyway I hope you guys had fun with this video, sorry I missed out on capturing parts that I should be but the plan was out the door when I ended up qualifying in the top 32 which meant I had to also race on the final day, limiting options for videoing.

Just arrived home from the Australian Drone Nationals 2017 :D
They racing was awesome throughout the entire event and the freestyle was a joy to watch :) Somehow through all the races I managed to have a fairly clean run and make it all the way though to the finals to take first place for a second year in a row. I am extremely grateful to have had the honour of running this race supported by ImpulseRC, T-Motor and HQProp again. They have helped to keep me in the air since the last nationals and up to date with the latest and fastest tech around. Also a massive thank you to Dogcom for providing us with a full set of new batteries just days before we left for the Nationals in Queensland :D
It’s worth mentioning that with the skill level of all the pilots who competed I truly believe anyone could have won the Australian Drone Nationals. If you think I’m being modest just look at the qualifying times and how close they were.
Also an especially big thank you to the three clubs that have supported me in Victoria (Melbourne Multirotor Racing Club Inc (MMRC), Eastside FPV Inc. - Miniquad Community Melbourne and Greensborough Model Aircraft Club). They have provided me with safe training grounds and race experience that I couldn’t have otherwise gained without their support.
I seem to always forget to mention this one but no one has any idea how grateful I am for having them with me every step of my life. . . My parents. You have helped me through literally everything in my life and without you I couldn’t do racing (or anything really I guess). The Paul and Christine's Bank incorporated has been exclusively funding me for my entire life and I could not afford to do any hobby without them :)
Without the organisers of the event the Australian Drone Nationals wouldn’t exist and I wouldn’t have had any race to go to and meet some of the amazing FPV pilots of Australia. You put on an awesome event and the track was epic :D You managed to bring pilots together from all over Australia to share and experience the Australian Nationals. Also a big thank you to the event sponsors who helped to fund the event organisers.
Overall, as much as I am the one with the title of 1st place racing it is really a testament to all the hard work of everyone who has contributed to my journey in life and in racing. So thank you to everyone, everywhere, at every time, for contributing to the evolution of the human race and making our world what it is today . . . Is that going too far :P
Also sorry Kevin for breaking your Tinywhoop antenna (I still can’t believe I did that)
