Ammo Can 12v / 24v Power Supply For LiPo Battery Charging

A detailed walk-through of how I constructed an ammo-can carrying case for my 12v/24v power supply. This makes a great way of transporting the modular server PSU's without damaging them, as well as keeping them cool and dust-free. The addition of a constant-current step-down supply is just a bonus.

Parts list:

For the ammo can, go to your local military surplus, or Costco also carries them (at least mine does) at a good price. Buying them new from e.g. Amazon will be really expensive. You can also go with a plastic one if you want, which will have the advantage that it is MUCH easier to drill and cut. The square cutouts for the display and the regulator were a freaking nightmare.

Power cords (you will need two, and you will need to modify the end to let it make the sharp bend to fit the PSU in the box with the fan): https://www.amazon.com/C2G-Cables-03130-Universal-IEC320C13/dp/B0000510ZO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1465622269&sr=8-3&keywords=computer+power+cord
