The second tallest standing structure built by the Romans, Pont Du Gard has towered over the river Gardon for 2,000 years, having carried water to Nimes for the majority of it's lifetime. Out of use since a revitilization attempt in the 1800s, the location serves as a beautiful spot to swim in the river and dive off the surrounding cliffs, while providing a beautiful historical backdrop. Fun fact: no mortar was ever used on the monolith, so every brick was perfectly shapped to use gravity to hold things together.
